13 August 2010; Superpages.com Center, Dallas, TX:
The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival rolled through Dallas on a hot as hell Friday the 13th. Pretty fitting for the type of bands that played which included Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Korn, and Rob Zombie. Even with the temperature hovering around 104 degrees the venue was packed from the stage to the back of the lawn. Here are a few highlights from the show of the main stage acts.

9 June, 2010: Superpages.com Center, Dallas, TX:
“The Maiden” kicked off their 2010 Final Frontiers Tour in Dallas. I’ve seen the Maiden many times growing up and they’ve been one of my favorite live bands. Since there’s no telling when they may call it quits (as I heard they weren’t even going to tour the US this year) I figured I’d go see them one last time. I personally felt they could have played a few more classics like The Trooper, Run to the Hills and Wasted Years but the show was great as usual. Bruce sounded great and the guitar work of Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers were on point even for the first night of their short US tour.

4-5, June 2010, Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas:
Team Penske Driver Ryan Briscoe was able to keep the lead as Danica Patrick of Andretti Autosport came in a close second at the 2010 Firestone 550k. Danica actually took the lead late in the race but her lead was short lived as Briscoe was able to get back in front with an outside move.

Normally we receive gifts on our birthday but Jason Kidd decided to give the Mavs a gift on his birthday by taking over the game in the 2nd half. Dirk Nowitzki was ejected just after the half after receiving back to back technicals and had to watch the rest of the game from the locker room after arguing with an official. Kidd took over the game and scored 26 points, had 12 assists, and 6 rebounds to help carry the Mavs to a 106-96 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

2009, March 20, Dallas, TX – American Airlines Center:
For the second time this season the Mavericks have worn the pretty blue alternate jersey with ‘Los Mavs’ on the front and for the second time they lost in them. It’s seems like the Mavs have the equivalent to the Dallas Cowboys’ ‘Bad Luck’ Blue Jersey. Either way we lost two games out of the last three and next up is a back to back with New Orleans and the Clippers. Please check out Hoopsworld.com for full details on this game and every Mavs game.

The Dallas Mavericks ‘Los Mavs’ were riding a 13 game winning streak on Noche Latina night when the New York Knicks ‘Nueva York’ came in to town and gave the Mavs a little taste of revenge as they beat the Mavs 128-94. The Knicks lost to the Mavericks by 50 points and were embarrassed on their home court just a few weeks before. For more info check out Hoopsworld.com. In the meantime here are some gametime highlights.

2009, February 24, American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX:
The first real test for the new look Mavericks came as the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers arrive in Dallas for their fourth meeting of the season. The Mavericks were embarrassed in Los Angeles as they were blown out by 40 points at the Staples Center so they were hoping to be able to make up for that tonight. One of their newest weapons was not available in this game due to a reaction to some medication before the game. Caron Butler was given medication earlier and it actually made him ill and keeping him out of what would have been his biggest test with his new team.
The Mavericks held on as Kobe made his run as usual in the fourth and won 101-96. For more details check out Hoopsworld.com.

2010, February 17, American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX:
The new look Mavs were on display in their first home game after acquiring some much needed help in Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson. Even though the new guys haven’t even practiced yet they are adding some points and much needed defense to the team as Butler scored 15 points and Haywood 10 points, 9 boards, and 5 blocked shots. The Mavs were able to hold the Phoenix Suns to under 100 points, something only done 6 times before this season and won 107-97.
