25 June, 2009,  Frisco, TX: A Thursday evening game with the temperatures around 100 was not the only thing that was hot as the Midland Rockhounds defeated the Roughriders 8-1. Texas Rangers starting pitcher was making a rehab start for the Roughriders as he threw four shutout innings. However reliever Beau Jones gave up seven runs in the fifth inning to the Rockhounds. On a bright note 2009 Beijing Olympics Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin threw out the first pitch before the game started.

I know I take this shot a lot but it's one of my favorite angles when I shoot pitchers. I'm not sold on this shot yet so it may be gone soon but I tried to get his face to show through the batter and this was the best I could get after shooting 2 innings worth of images trying to capture this angle. I didn't come out like I had hoped. Oh well the jury's still out.

I'm really big on shots of pitchers facing me and the tighter the better. I love the intensity in their eyes and the arms coming up about to deliver the pay-off pitch. I kinda feel like I'm at bat again.
